WWJD?
Well, He is the Word - there's no doubt that He would preach. And Preach He did:
Mark 1:38-39
38 He said* to them, "Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may PREACH there also; for that is what I came for." 39 And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons.
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor . He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives , And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed
Christ's purpose was to preach.
What did the 12 do?
Mark 3:14-15
14 And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out the demons.
What should You and I do?
Mark 16:15-17
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. 17 "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues.
Acts 1:8
8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
The Holy Spirit's primary purpose for His anointing is to empower you and I to preach Christ to the lost.
It is incredible to see how miracles follow the preaching of the Word. They don't seem to follow our barbeques, braais or events.
It is equally true that persecution follows the preaching of the Word: "affliction or persecution arises because of the word" Mark 4:17. So, if we want to avoid persecution, we should not preach the Word. Preach other things, like benevolence and environmentalism and crime, etc, but don't preach Christ if you want to be loved by everybody.
Preach Christ, or play games.
we will preach it on the beaches...we will preach it in the pubs...we shall preach it on the landing grounds, we shall preach it in the fields and in the streets, we shall preach in the hills; we shall never surrender...:-)This good News will be Preached
